The Ministry of Commerce held an FIE roundtable with consumer products producers in Haikou


On April 13, the Ministry of Commerce held a roundtable with foreign-invested enterprises operating in consumer goods business in Haikou to hear from them and help them solve problems. The meeting was presided over and addressed by Vice Minister Sheng Qiuping. Also attending was Bater, Executive Vice Governor of Hainan, who also made remarks. The roundtable was joined by 15 FIEs, including Blackmores, Danone, DFX, Estee Lauder, IKEA, L'Oreal, Porsche, Tapestry and Volkswagen. Representatives from relevant authorities of Hainan Province and departments of the Ministry of Commerce attended the meeting and talked with the FIEs.

Sheng said that China is promoting high-quality development, accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, making efforts to improve business environment and provide sound service for foreign-funded enterprises. China's consumer market has huge potential and broad space. As consumption promotion policies, such as the consumer goods trade-in scheme, begin to take effect, new potential will continue to be released, which will bring new development opportunities for Chinese and foreign enterprises. He said multinational companies are welcome to invest in China and achieve mutual benefit and common prosperity through opening-up and cooperation.

FIEs joining the meeting said that the Chinese market has great potential, and that they are full of confidence in the prospects of China's economic development. They will firmly invest in China to meet the needs of Chinese consumers for high-quality consumption.
