Vice Minister Sheng Qiuping attended the preparatory briefing and signing ceremony of the 5th CIIE and gave a speech

The CIIE Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) held the preparatory briefing and signing ceremony of the 5th CIIE on 21 June. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping joined online and gave a speech.

Sheng said that since its inception, the CIIE has played an important role as an open platform for international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchanges, and cooperation, and contributed to the market and industrial integration, innovation, and harmonization of rules between China and the rest of the world. The evolution of the CIIE is an epitome of China’s continued opening-up in the new era, and a reflection of the shared opportunities and win-win cooperation for businesses from around the world. In the context of once-in-a-century transformations and the COVID-19 pandemic, China remains committed to opening-up as a fundamental state policy, and has implemented a range of measures to ensure stability and quality of foreign trade and attract foreign investment. Remarkable progress has been achieved in stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment. China encourages all countries to use the CIIE as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and win-win cooperation and find more business opportunities.

The CIIE Bureau and the office of the leading group for urban logistics gave a briefing on the preparations of the 5th CIIE and the progress in urban logistics coordination. The Consul General of Argentina in Shanghai also addressed the event. The signing ceremony was joined by the exhibitors, exhibition organizers, staff of the Hongqiao Forum, participants to the cultural exchanges from over 30 companies and agencies.
